What Menstrual Cup Size to Choose?

Most MeLuna Shorty users do well with the following criteria:

The Shorty Small is used primarily by users with special circumstances:

Shorty Small is created to accommodate users with the need for a very narrow AND very short cup. This may occur due to scarring from injury, radiation treatment or surgeries as well as medical conditions.

Users without special medical considerations generally select by these options:

Shorty Medium is commonly used by users of all ages who have not given birth vaginally at all and have a light flow

Shorty Large is commonly used by users of all ages who have not given birth vaginally at all or have not had more than one vaginal birth.

Shorty XL is primarily used by users who have had at least one vaginal birth and users who have a very heavy flow.

The handle is available in all three styles:

a small ball - our least noticeable handle style, most comfortable

a ring - most noticeable and easiest to find style for users worried about  not being able to reach their cup easily

a stem - great for beginners, this style is comfortable and easy to find

This listing is for the BALL handle

    Works well, comfortable

Posted by Laura Taylor on Jul 26th 2021

Previously had a Diva Cup, but after a second baby I was finding it would leak and was too long (I could feel it or it would almost fall out). This cup fixed both those issues! It has a smaller volume because it’s short, so I have to remember to empty it often or it will still leak.

    Best Purchase Ever

This cup is amazing! Super comfortable. Easy to insert and remove. Short enough for my cervix while still having a good volume. Best $25 I’ve ever spent!!

I love my new Me Luna cup. After having my daughter, my previous cup was uncomfortable and kept leaking. I was able to pick from the diversity of sizes and found the correct one on the first try!

I would recommend the Me Luna to anyone who is looking for an alternative to tampons or who is unhappy with their current cup.

    Great cup!

I’ve struggled finding a cup that works with my low cervix. I almost purchased the small shorty but glad I didn’t. The medium is still very small… the actual small must be tiny, lol. It’s great because it fits well… it’s easy to insert and remove, I can’t feel it, and my body doesn’t “push” it out like other cups. The capacity is my only issue. On my heavy days I use a different low cervix cup. The MeLuna shorty medium is great for lighter flow days. I’m thinking about purchasing the large shorty and see how that goes. If you’re on the fence about purchasing one of the shorty cups for a low cervix or short vaginal canal go for it… you won’t be disappointed. I recommend buying a 2 pack with different sizes… a better deal than buying one at a time.

    XL Shorty

Posted by Stacie Millichamp on May 3rd 2021

I am SO, SO happy that Me Luna has made this option. I chaperone Boy Scout summer camp and needed something more discrete since we all share an outhouse. I tried a cup off the shelf from a drug store. It was so uncomfortable and did not fit well at all. A friend suggested Me Luna and using the sizing guidelines I ended up with an XL Shorty, I have a low cervix and have had 4 vaginal deliveries. It was so much more comfortable than my previous cup. It fits well and I have never had any leakage. Even though I have the shorty I can last all day without having to empty it. Thank you Me Luna!

Finally I found a comfortable cup! I have a low cervix, the shorty was so comfortable. I loved the ability to customize the handle and size. Your company doing amazing things. I will say the classic firmness was a great starting point for me as well. The suction was strong, and when placed correctly I had no leaks. I’m coming back and definitely recommending to my friends who want to move away from disposable period products.

    Great quality and affordability

Posted by Jeanine Rodgers on Apr 10th 2021

I bought the low cervix cup with a ball at the end and I like it.

Before having two children I used a diva cup, and I tried it about a year after giving birth to my second and it did not fit anymore, I looked into other cups and found MeLuna.

I love that there is a low cervix option, that it is easy to use and insert and affordable. Unfortunately, I did order the wrong size. I ordered a large, when I should’ve ordered an extra large. I guess I didn’t think that I needed the extra width or capacity, but the large doesn’t stay in place as well as I would like. Hopefully the bigger size will be what I need. I’m otherwise very satisfied with the quality of the product. Maybe I’ll be able to switch back to the large if I work on strengthening my pelvic floor.

    Life changing

This is the 4th menstral cup I’ve tried. Prior to this one I never had a good fit. It would always stick out partially and irritate me. So uncomfortable! I did a little research and realized I have a low cervix so I purchased this cup. This cup is so comfortable I can’t even feel it. i am so grateful that I found it.

I’m so happy! I switched to this one after using a different brand, and the shorty makes all the difference. I can’t feel it at all, and it opens much more easily than the other brand I used.
