Firm menstrual cups for active users
Does Your Menstrual Cup Leak During Exercise?
If your menstrual cup works well during everyday activities but leaks, shifts,
or loses its seal during exercise, it may be compressing during movement.
MeLuna Sport uses our firmest material to help the cup stay open and maintain
its seal during running, lifting, climbing, yoga, swimming, martial arts, and
other demanding activity.
✓
Your cup leaks mainly during running, lifting, climbing, or intense workouts.
✓
Your cup shifts or loses its seal when you engage your core.
✓
You have strong pelvic floor muscles and have experienced cup compression before.
✓
Your current cup works well on less-active days.
Firmness is only one part of fit
A firmer cup can help when compression causes leaks. If your cup leaks
because the diameter is too small, switching to a firmer cup in the same
diameter may not solve the problem. Match both diameter and firmness to
your body and activity level.

Made for Movement, Tested Upside Down
“I originally bought a regular length and firmness, large, as was
recommended to me because I've had one child, but it was way too big.
I am 5'2" and 105 lbs. I got the shorty firm, Sport, because I am very
active with acroyoga, so I am upside down a lot, and rock climbing.
It stays in place and I don't even feel it. Highly recommend for the
active, petite lady!”

MeLuna Shorty Sport
Firmer material
Resists compression during high-impact movement and core engagement.
Stable shape
Helps the cup remain open and supports a consistent seal.
Options for low, average, and high cervix
Choose Shorty for a low cervix or Standard for an average cervix.
For a high cervix, pair a Standard cup with a Ring Handle and Nupsi
extension for added reach.
Four diameters
Choose Small, Medium, Large, or XL based on fit and leak history.
Pre-workout tip
If you tend to experience exercise leaks, emptying and reinserting your cup
before a demanding workout can give you a fresh start with placement and seal.
Confirm that it is fully open and positioned comfortably before activity.
Important: MeLuna Sport is not recommended for everyone
The firmer material creates a stronger seal and can make folding the cup and
breaking the seal for removal more challenging. MeLuna Sport is not recommended
for beginners or people with limited finger dexterity or grip strength.
A water-based lubricant
can make insertion more comfortable, especially toward the end of your cycle
when there may be less natural moisture.
Choose MeLuna Sport if
- Your cup leaks during high-impact or core-engaged exercise.
- You have strong pelvic floor muscles and have experienced cup compression before.
- Your current cup collapses or shifts under pressure.
- You already have cup experience and feel confident with removal.
Choose MeLuna Classic if
- You are newer to menstrual cups.
- Your current cup does not collapse during activity.
- You prefer easier folding and seal release.
- You want one cup for everyday use and moderate activity.

Great Cup
“This is the only menstrual cup I've been able to get to work for me.
I tried a few silicone ones, but I love the way these are made.”

My Goldilocks Cup
“I've purchased two of these through the years, they're absolutely
perfect. I love that the firmness means I never have to fuss with
making sure the cup is open, I just trust that it is. I initially
opted for a small, and it was just a smidge too large for my vaginal
opening, had to fold to remove, so I've since switched over to the teen
cup, which is perfect with that extra firmness.
The ring makes finding the cup easy, and I don't have to mangle my
fingernails bringing it out, but make sure you break the suction first,
especially if you have an IUD like me.”

MeLuna Standard Sport
Standard Height Sport
Best for an average cervix and users who have enough internal space for
a standard-height cup.
For a high cervix, a Standard cup with a Ring Handle can be paired with
a Nupsi extension for added reach during removal.
Low Cervix Shorty Sport
Best for a low cervix or users who find standard-height cups too long.
Shorty offers less capacity because of its reduced height.
Choose the Shorty diameter based on fit and leak history rather than
choosing the smallest size automatically.
Many customers use Sport as a second cup
Some active users choose MeLuna Sport for workouts and the more flexible
MeLuna Classic for less-active days or the end of the cycle. Choose the
Standard or Shorty Sport that fits your body and the activities you love.
Did you know? Your Sport cup can change with time.
After years of use, the material can become more flexible. If your Sport
cup once stayed reliable during workouts but now leaks when you run,
lift, or engage your core, it may be time for a fresh Sport cup.
Still working well on regular days? You can keep using it for those days
if it is in good condition. Check for tears, cracks, or other signs of
wear, and retire any cup that shows them. If leaks have started during
everyday activity too, revisit your diameter as your body and fit needs
may have changed.

Is MeLuna Sport good for beginners?
MeLuna Sport is usually not the best first cup. Its firmer material can
be more difficult to fold and creates a stronger seal that can be harder
to release during removal. MeLuna Classic is a better starting point for
most beginners.
Will MeLuna Sport prevent leaks?
MeLuna Sport can help when leaks are caused by strong pelvic floor or
core muscles compressing a more flexible cup. If your current cup leaks
because its diameter is too small or it is positioned incorrectly, a
firmer cup alone may not solve the problem.
Do I need more than one cup?
One menstrual cup is often enough. Some customers keep MeLuna Sport as a
second cup for active days and use Classic when they prefer easier folding
and removal.
Should I empty my cup before exercise?
You do not need to empty your cup before every workout. If you tend to
experience exercise leaks, emptying and reinserting it before a demanding
workout can give you a fresh start with placement and seal. Confirm that
the cup has opened fully before beginning activity.
Can I use lubricant with MeLuna Sport?
Yes. A small amount of water-based lubricant can make insertion easier,
especially on lower-flow days. Avoid oil-based lubricants.
How do I choose the correct diameter?
Start with the diameter of a cup that already fits well. If your current
cup slides down or leaks despite opening fully, you may need a larger
diameter. Do not automatically choose a smaller size because you are
petite or athletic.
Ready for a Cup That Can Keep Up With You?
Choose MeLuna Sport when your current cup works during daily life but loses
its seal under pressure. Compare Standard and Shorty options or request a
personal recommendation before ordering.
